| To commemorate
150 years in operation by New South Wales Railways, LaserPro was commissioned
by Railcorp to combine the historic nature of the Sydney Central Railway
building with a modern laser animation. Railcorp wanted to draw attention
to the main railway station in Sydney’s CBD, leading up to it’s
temporary conversion into a railway museum.
After discussions with
Railcorp and Sydney City Council approval was given to project directly
onto the clock tower at Central Station. To do this we received
heritage exemption for this unique installation. This was given,
as laser light has no direct impact on buildings.
We created a wash of colour on the main building along with the
clock tower of red and green in line with Railcorp’s modern
corporate branding. Onto this we super imposed a custom-made 3D
animation, projected directly onto the clock tower using one of
LaserPro’s DPSS 2Watt lasers.
The logo faced north and was visible from Sydney’s CBD and
main thoroughfare’s. |
